Mestre em artes visuais, seu trabalho mistura características da fotografia clássica do século XX com uma abordagem de captação em médio formato e pós-produção autoral em softwares digitais.

Fotografo o que sobra quando o excesso se retira: a luz que constrói em vez de iluminar, o branco que é matéria, o espaço sem ausência, o instante antes do movimento virar memória. Trabalho em preto e branco porque este é o tempo da fotografia: sem pressa, sem ruído, sem cor que nos distraia do que é essencial. Sinto que, às vezes, chego onde o olho não alcança: no limite entre o que é real e o que inevitavelmente sonhamos através das imagens. Gosto de pensar que a arte de ver transita pelo invisível. É a revelação sutil do que sempre esteve em nós antes de estar no mundo.

I photograph what remains when excess withdraws: the light that builds rather than illuminates, the white that is matter, space without absence, the instant before movement becomes memory. I work in black and white because this is the time of photography: without haste, without noise, without color to distract us from what is essential. I feel that, at times, I reach where the eye cannot: at the threshold between what is real and what we inevitably dream through images. I like to think that the art of seeing moves through the invisible. It is the subtle revelation of what was always within us before being in the world.
